Building a gaming rig with all the power you need? Well, you will also need a good gaming case to house everything as you put together you gaming build. The choice is technical and tough both. Thus, I decided to list out the Best Gaming Cases you can buy in 2024 along with a comprehensive buyer’s guide so that you make the right choice. Let’s begin!

While building a PC, most of us are excited about what components to use like the graphics card, motherboards, processors etc. But, my dear fellow gamer, you cannot ignore the importance of having an appropriate PC case because if you mess up this choice, your gaming rig is sure to screw up sooner or later.

There are a lot of options available for gaming cases in the market today. And, I personally do not like the confusing way they are classified which is a topic of separate debate.

There are two viewpoints to look at it i.e. by case size (Mini Tower, Mid Tower, Full Tower) and by motherboard size (Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX) – and the second one makes more sense technically.

As I suppose you have already decided on what size of motherboard you are building your PC, let’s take that as our reference for the rest of the post.

Now, let me begin with the real deal. First off, take a look at the list of best gaming cases of 2024 in the table below.

Our Thoughts

Having used Corsair products time and again, I can assure you about the high-performance products it delivers. And, Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX gaming case is one such product.

For cooling, there are multiple fan mounts for installing up to five case fans which are enough for a small-sized gaming case. And, this gaming case comes with two fans (120mm + 140mm) preinstalled. Also, you still get space for 240mm Radiator.

  • Radiator mounts: 1x Front (120mm)

Our Thoughts

Next one on the list of best gaming cases comes from the house of Cooler Master. I am talking about the Cooler Master Elite 110 – a cubical and portable gaming case.

This gaming case comes with three 3.5 inch drive bays, support for up to 8.3 inch GPU and a standard ATX sized PSU. You can also use a CPU cooler with height up to 3 inches. And, the whole front face has a meshed panel where you can install a 120mm radiator for sufficient cooling.

While it offers a lot but due to the cubical shape, you have to sacrifice a 5.25” drive bay.

In terms of durability, Cooler Master Elite 110 is built with Steel alloy making it quite strong and sturdy. The front facing mesh panel is made of polymer keeping the overall weight of just under 6 lbs (2.65 Kg).

This small and portable gaming case gives you enough options to build a gaming PC at an affordable price. In my opinion, Cooler Master Elite 110 is the best budget gaming case in mini ITX form factor.

Our Thoughts

Here’s another great option if you are building a mini itx gaming PC. The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is a perfect balance of aesthetics, performance and budget – that’s why my personal favorite.

Phantek Enthoo Evolv computer case can give strong competition to any of the best gaming cases in its price range, thanks to the mind-blowing features. You will be surprised to know that this gaming PC case offers support for liquid coolers as well as a 13-inch long graphics card. That screams performance!

For storage, you get two 3.5” bay while one for 2.5” drive. Cooling will be a non-issue with up to 5 fans including a massive 200mm case fan pre-installed.

The best part about this gaming case is the ability to customize with a lot of detachable and retractable parts. It also comes with ample cable management options along with Hoop-n-Loop ties which allows using fuller size PSUs without creating all the cable mess.

The build quality is unbeatable with steel panels and steel chassis. For those who love RGB and LED lighting, there is a tempered glass window to let you show off all the style!

Overall, the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is the best windowed gaming case for those building their gaming PCs on mini ITX motherboards.

  • Fan mounts: 2x Front (120mm) 1x Rear (120mm) 1x Top (120mm x 15mm) 1x Side (120mm)
  • Radiator mounts: 1x Front (240mm)

Our Thoughts

Among the Micro ATX computer cases, the first one I am mentioning is the Cooler Master N200, a stylish micro ATX gaming case. It adheres to Cooler Master’s general design philosophy by employing the recognizable meshed front which enables good airflow.

The power button and the front panel connectors are located on the protruding vertical bar, separate from the front mesh. As for the cooling, it comes with three XtraFlo fans pre-installed, two on the front and one on the rear of the case. On top of that, it supports an additional side fan and an additional top fan.

It is remarkable how much Cooler Master is able to offer with a case as small and as modestly priced as the N200. It packs clean looks and functionality into one modestly-priced package.

Of course, the water-cooling capacity is nothing spectacular and will not appeal to hardcore enthusiasts, but in a mere $50 Mini Tower computer case, it is quite a good deal.

  • Fan mounts: 2x Front (120mm), 1x Rear (120mm)
  • Radiator mounts: 1x Front (240mm), 1x Rear (120mm)

Our Thoughts

For those who want a visually pleasing computer case, Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 can prove to be a good choice in a similar price range as the N200.

Where the N200 was minimalistic and functionality-oriented design, the MasterBox Lite 3.1 is much more conspicuous and high-profile.

The gaming case incorporates a transparent tempered glass side panel as well as a black-tinted semi-transparent front panel. Not only does this provide the case with a great-looking high-tech exterior, but it also allows you to take full advantage of the LED lighting built into the case fans and the components.

Speaking of fans, the case is a tad more limited in terms of fan support but it adds an extra side radiator mount.

As mentioned above, this case is similar to the N200 when it comes to the price tag and the build quality, but its glass surfaces make it appear far more impressive.

It does not differ much in terms of functionality apart from the fact that it prioritizes liquid cooling support over air cooling, which is understandable given the somewhat more limited airflow as compared to its mesh-front cousin.

  • Fan mounts: 2x Front (120mm), 1x Rear (120mm)
  • Radiator mounts: 1x Front (240mm), 1x Rear (120mm)

Our Thoughts

The BitFenix Prodigy M computer case is one of my personal favorites in terms of aesthetics and variety. With the uniquely styled handles on all four sides and choice of six different colors, this gaming case has a plethora of great features to build an ultimate gaming rig.

To make the case portable, BitFenix has used a smaller frame as well as kept it super lightweight. But to put in all the components can be a task (well, not for everyone).

You get 5 PCI slots, five 2.5” drive bays, four 3.5” drive bays and one 5.25” drive bay but all that leaves just enough room for slim 240mm coolers.

Being made of steel, this gaming case also features a windowed panel on one side to show off your assembly inside. An interesting fact about this case is that it is compatible with both mATX and mITX motherboards. So, in case you feel like switching to mini-ITX, you won’t have to change the case.

One thing that I find awkward is the I/O ports positioning, the USB and audio ports are on the side of the case which is kinda difficult to access. Also, if you are looking forward to a water cooling system, there is no way to use DVD drive alongside because of the space problem.

In my opinion, the BitFenix Prodigy M is one of the smallest gaming cases under $100 tag having a good balance between space and aesthetics.

  • Radiator mounts 1x Front (120/240/280/360mm), 1x Top (120/240mm), 1x Rear (120mm)

Our Thoughts

The next one in our list of best gaming cases is Corsair Crystal Series 570X – a true tempered glass computer case. The front, top, and both sides of the case consist of fully transparent tempered glass.

When it comes to the functionality, the 570X allows for more advanced cooling because it is a larger ATX case. Corsair has made sure to take advantage of that, as the case comes with three RGB-lit front fans in addition to supporting two additional top fans and one rear fan.

On top of that, it also supports up to three radiators for those who prefer water cooling.

The Crystal Series 570X is a superbly built case that combines remarkable aesthetic qualities with excellent air and liquid cooling potential. Unfortunately, this comes at a price – literally.

That said, it is quite expensive as far as cases go, but it is a price those who need visual appeal and good cooling in a single package would be willing to pay.

  • Fan mounts 2x Front (140mm), 2x Top (120mm), 1x Rear (120mm)

Our Thoughts

The Corsair Carbide series are usually built to present the best balance of reliability and affordability, and the 100R is a prime example of that. It boasts a simple and clean exterior, as well as a transparent side panel.

Some of the practical features that this case incorporates are easily manageable HDD/SSD racks, simplified cable management, good airflow and support for up to five case-mounted fans, with a rear-mounted one already included.

All in all, the Carbide Series 100R is a great case for those who don’t really care that much about appearance as much as they do about functionality and build quality.

You will be getting both of those in this highly affordable case. Its only real drawback is limited water cooling support.

Our Thoughts

When it comes to sleek aluminium cases, Lian Li has always stood out from the crowd. The company’s latest PC-O11 Dynamic case is no exception.

Lian Li created the perfect blend of tempered glass and brushed aluminium to make a piece of modern art here.
The best thing about the PC-O11 case is that it is extremely versatile, something we found older cases from the company to be lacking.

With its dual chamber design, the PC-O11 is larger than most mid towers and in return is capable of supporting a whole lot more, including most E-ATX boards.

Built-in USB 3.1 Type-C, interior modularity and exceptional cable management make the PC-O11 Dynamic one of our favorite full tower gaming cases to date.

  • Radiator mounts 1x 420mm Front, 1x 420mm Top, 1x 140mm Rear, 1x 420mm Side, 1x 240mm Bottom

Our Thoughts

Following up is another Thermaltake case – the View 71. It takes the cooling efficiency of the Core V51 and combines with a superb visual appeal that relies on RGB lighting and a tempered glass exterior.

Much like the previous case, this one also comes with two front and one rear fan that improve airflow inside the case, although the ones included here come with full RGB lighting – a feature you will want to take full advantage of if you wish to make the most of the transparent exterior.

There really is not much to say about this case: it looks great, is well-built, highly manageable, supports excellent cooling, and all of that at a very reasonable price for a case of this calibre.

The only reason not to get this case is if you pay no mind to aesthetics and prefer function over form.

Buyer’s Guide: Choosing the Perfect Gaming Case

Now, that you have gone through all the best gaming case options available in the market, it is the time to make a choice. But before that, let me tell you a few important things that you must consider while buying a computer case for your gaming rig.

These factors largely define whether the case you are going to buy is actually worth it or not. So, Here you go!

Size

The first thing you need to know about gaming computer cases is that they differ in size. You will need a case that is large enough to store all your components, with room for future upgrades. The most common size is ATX Mid-Tower which contains more than enough space for the typical gaming build. If you need even more room or have special needs for your gaming PC you may need an ATX Full-Tower case instead.

Motherboard Compatibility

Most of you will already know this, but your case must be able to fit your motherboard. All motherboards have what is known as a ‘form factor’, which is a size standard that the manufacturers follow. The most common form factor is ATX. So if you have an ATX motherboard, which is more than likely, then you must choose a case that supports an ATX motherboard.

Cooling

A decent gaming PC case will have at least one good case fan for proper airflow to cool down your system and also fan ports for additional fans if you need to add more. You don’t want your precious components to overheat and risk getting damaged, so getting a case that is known for good cooling is a good idea especially for a high-performance build.

Design

The appearance of your gaming PC case may be important to some of you, and if so choose one that you like the look of because you will generally keep your case for a long time. Some cases also come with cool extra features such as LED lighting, and many come with a clear side panel which looks awesome when the build is up and running.

Drive Bays

An important thing to look out for is the number and size of bays. Computer cases come with a differing number of bays, and you will need 3.5” bays for floppy drives and hard drives, and 5” bays are required for your CD and DVD drives. Most cases on the market these days are packed full of features and usually contain enough bays anyway, but check to make sure if you have certain needs.

Cable Management

Cable management is another factor to take into account when choosing gaming computer cases. Some cases are easier to work with and provide better cable management than others, so if this is important to you then choose a case that is known for effective cable management.
